Studio Policies

Built for a Positive Studio Experience

Our policies help Connection Dance Company stay organized, welcoming, and focused on each dancer's growth. Families are encouraged to review the information below so everyone knows what to expect through the season.

Class Enrollment and Placement

Class Enrollment

Class offerings may change based on registration numbers. Classes must meet a minimum of 6 students to remain on the schedule. If a class does not meet the required number of students, we will work with families to find the closest available option.

Class Placement

Placement is determined by age, skill level, technical ability, maturity, and instructor recommendation. A different class or level may be recommended when it would better support the dancer's progress and overall experience.

Registration and Tuition

Registration

A non-refundable $60 fee that is due per dancer at enrollment. This payment includes one Connection Dance Company T-shirt. Registration is not complete until the fee, required forms, and payment information have been submitted through the parent portal.

Tuition

Tuition is divided into monthly payments for the full dance season.

Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month. The monthly amount remains the same regardless of holidays, studio closures, or the number of class meetings within a particular month.

Automatic Payments

A valid payment method must remain on file through the parent portal. Tuition and any additional studio charges will be processed according to the billing schedule provided during registration.

Late Payments

Tuition is due the 1st of every month. A $30 late fee will be added to any unpaid balance after the monthly due date. Accounts that remain unpaid for 30 days may result in the dancer being removed from class enrollment until the balance is paid in full.

Refund Policy

Registration fees, tuition, costume fees, recital fees, intensives, merchandise, and other studio charges are nonrefundable unless otherwise stated.

Withdrawals

To withdraw from a class, families must submit a written notice through the parent portal at least 30 days before the dancer's final class. Tuition will continue to be billed until the withdrawal request has been received and all outstanding balances must be paid in full.

Recital Season Withdrawals

To protect recital planning, choreography, and formations, dancers may not withdraw from classes after March 1. Tuition and any remaining recital-related balances will continue to be due through the end of the season.

Closures and Medical Leave

Weather Closures

Classes canceled to due severe weather conditions or circumstances beyond the studio's control are not refundable. When possible, make-up opportunities may be offered based on studio availability.

Medical Leave

Dancers who miss an extended period due to injury or illness may request a temporary tuition hold with documentation from a physician. A medical release may be also required before the dancer returns to class.

Attendance and Expectations for Class

Attendance

Consistent attendance supports each dancer's progress and helps classes move forward together. Please keep absences to a minimum and keep dancers home when they are sick or contagious.

Late Arrival

Dancers should arrive on time and ready for class. Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late may be asked to observe if they missed the warm-up needed to participate safely.

Leaving Early

Families should notify the instructor before class begins if a dancer needs to leave early.

Electronic Devices

Phones, smart watches, and other devices should remain put away during class unless approved by the instructor for an emergency.

Food and Gum

Only water in a closed bottle is permitted inside the dance room. Food, candy, and gum are not allowed.

Studio and Lobby Guidelines

Studio Lobby

Parents and guests should remain in the studio lobby and avoid entering classrooms while instruction is in progress.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up

Dancers should be dropped off and picked up promptly. Younger dancers must remain supervised until their class begins and should be met inside the studio after class.

Siblings

Siblings are welcome in the lobby but must remain supervised and should not disrupt classes.

Personal Belongings

Connection Dance Company is not responsible for lost or misplaced items. Please label dancewear, shoes, bags, and water bottles.

Food and Drinks

Food and drinks should remain in designated areas. Only water in a closed bottle is permitted inside classrooms.

Communication and Studio Conduct

Communication

Studio updates will be shared through the parent portal, email, and social media. Families are responsible for keeping contact information current and reviewing messages regularly.

Questions and Concerns

Questions should be directed to the front desk rather than discussed during class time. Meetings with instructors may be scheduled when needed so class instruction is not interrupted. We appreciate your understanding while instructors prepare for their next scheduled class.

Respectful Conduct

Dancers and families are expected to treat instructors, staff, and other dancers, and studio property with respect. Disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from class or dismissal from the studio.
